About Us

"As you have done for the least of these, my brethren, you have done unto Me"

Good Samaritan BannerOur History.  GSPC is a congregation of about 250 members.  Our congregation is drawn principally from Waldorf, LaPlata, and surrounding Charles County.  Others come from both northern St. Mary's County and southern Prince Georges County.

GSPC was founded in 1977 as the first Presbyterian Church (USA) congregation in Charles County.  The "Good Samaritan" name was chosen to reflect the model of Christian caring and service that we sought to become.  That ideal is reflected in our motto, "We could care less - but we have decided to care more."

Our Vision.  GSPC is a fellowship of believers in the redeeming power of Jesus Christ and a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (USA) located in Waldorf, Maryland.  We are a diverse mix of imperfect people with an aim to love and glorify God in all we do and to increaingly know Him and manifest His grace in all aspects of our lives.

In a time of change and challenge in our nation, our community, and in our congregation, we seek to glorify God in our worship, our work, and in our relationship with others.  We believe that God has called us to carry His light to the world  by caring for our community, each other, and others in need who cross our path; that we are to model our service on Jesus' life and teachings; and that we are to rely on the wisdom and strength of the Holy Spirit for guidance and inspiration.

All Are Welcome!  Whether you're searching for a church home or are simply curious to see what the Christian faith has to offer, we extend a welcoming hand to you.  Please visit or call to learn more about Good Samaritan.
