Fellowship Groups and Activities

Pizza DinnerIn addition to regular events that involve the whole congregation, there are fellowship groups that match a wide variety of groups and interests across the church family. In addition to the middle-high and high school youth groups, these include:

Women’s Fellowship meets at 9:30 a.m. on the first Saturday each month at the home of a GSPC member. The ladies share responsibility for breakfast and often share recipes for yummy new dishes. A short devotional is followed by a time for sharing joys and concerns for prayer. It’s a great time to come together and know one another more fully than is possible on a busy Sunday morning. All ladies are welcome; please call the church office for directions if you need them.

Getman Group Men’s Fellowship – Named for Dr. Gerald Getman, one of the founding members of the group. This group meets at the church on the third Saturday of each month for breakfast and a topical discussion. While not primarily a "project group", the Getman Group was responsible for designing and building the meditation garden to the north of the church building. The men also look forward to their three-day retreat in Bethany Beach, Delaware every spring.

Prayer WeaversPrayer Weavers – This group’s mission is to kit and crochet prayer shawls. As they are created, prayers are said for the recipients, being woven into the very fabric of each shawl. The shawls are given to people in need of prayer, as tangible proof that someone has been praying for them, providing warmth for both the body and soul.

GSPC Crafters – Our craft group is a dedicated group of men and women who enjoy making a wide variety of decorative and useful items.  Their work supports GSPC's annual craft fair in November and comes just in time for holiday decorating and gift giving.  The group meets on Mondays from January to November at 10:30 a.m.  No special skills are required, and new participants are always welcome.  The group enjoys great fellowship while inspiring each other to make new and original items as well as old favorites.

Friends Who Lunch – As the name suggests this group enjoys meeting for lunch at many of the Southern Maryland restaurants. The group normally meets on the second Tuesday of each month. The restaurant of choice is determined and announced in plenty of time for everyone to plan to participate.
